Great Hill - 200 Capacity

The Great Hill is an open hilltop meadow with picnic tables, a soft surface oval path, and a lawn under a ring of stately trees. Now, the Great Hill has become much more than just that! It's now home to picnics, concerts, and other activities, like running or race walking. The third highest point of Central Park makes this a prime location for breathtaking beautiful wedding ceremonies.

Conservatory Gardens English - 100 Capacity

To the south is the very intimate English-style Conservatory garden. There are five mixed borders of trees, shrubs, and perennial plants and five seasonal beds featuring spring bulbs followed by annual flower displays. A slope of woodland plants lines the western edge of this garden. At the center is sculptor Bessie Potter Vonnoh's lovely Frances Hodgeson Burnett Memorial Fountain, a tribute to the author of the children's book, The Secret Garden. The children — a girl and a boy, said to depict Mary and Dickon, the main characters from the classic — stand at one end of a small water lily pool.

Conservatory Garden Italian - 100 Capacity

The Italianate center garden comprises a large lawn surrounded by yew hedges and bordered by two exquisite allées of spring-blooming pink and white crabapple trees. A 12-foot high jet fountain plays on the western end, backed with tiered hedges that lead up to an awe-inspiring wisteria pergola. The walkway under this magnificent arbor features medallions inscribed with the names of our original 13 states!

Happenings™ Ever After

After spending more than two decades in the event industry creating some of the most illustrious Happenings of our time, world-class event designer, Tom Noel, wanted to provide his skills to a broader public. Based in Manhattan, Tom Noel would often take a walk through Central Park. In 2008, during one of these walks, he stopped to sit at one of his favorite spots in the Park, the Bethesda Fountain. It was here that he realized that the intrinsic beauty that surrounds us was not being harnessed fully. He also realized that not a single business provided the exclusiveness of a top event design house while scaling the planning and production process to meet the pricing needs of the average consumer. Determined to change this, Happenings™ was born.
